What inspired you to create this artwork and embark on a series dedicated to Mother Nature?

“Sea Lover 1” is part of the series of paintings dedicated to Mother Nature.

The series depicts the beauty of humans interacting with Nature. The representation of female nudes enjoying Nature is a symbol of purity and liberation, as humans we are part of it.

Based on the idea that the elements of Nature are fourfold, Wind/Air, Water, Earth & Fire. Without these, the world could not function in the perfect and orderly fashion that it does. The wind raises the clouds to form the rain, that nurtures the earth to grow vegetation, fruits and flowers, and the wood that kindles the fire.

In the series the first three paintings are dedicated to the vegetation, followed by two dedicated to the Sun and light and other two to the Water. The series is still to continue.

How did you choose the colour palette for “Sea Lover 1,” and what emotions or feelings were you aiming to convey through these colours?

The choice of orange-blue colour palette is perfect for this subject where the Sea is blue and the Sun light is bright using yellow-orange. Beautiful, warm, calm and relaxing feeling!

Can you tell us more about your technique and the process of working with a palette knife? How does it contribute to the overall texture and visual impact of the artwork?

The works in this series are spontaneous with rich colours and texture. The use of a palette knife only creates vibrant and unplanned marks and patterns. The overall impact of the artwork is a feeling of joy and a unique moment in time.

What was your intention behind depicting the young woman in a rear view, looking over her shoulder? What message or narrative were you trying to convey through her pose?

“Sea Lover 1” (depicting the rear view of a nude young woman in the water and looking over her shoulder), can be an invitation to the viewer to follow her and enjoy the moment, submerged or swimming in the sea, relaxing your body and your mind.  Be happy in the Nature!
