Art2Arts Artist at Christmas - Rod Bere

We are continuing our ‘Art2arts artist at Christmas’ series with Rod Bere’s contribution. Rod describes his work as “perspective impressionism, painted instinctively to give a realistic feel”. He has been contributed to our online magazine with a full interview but today’s post is all about the art of giving and enjoying being part of a community. We invite you to discover why.

Do you give your art as a gift to family and friends?

Yes, I paintings to friends and family and sometimes to people that come into my gallery who I can see can’t afford to buy, even some children.

What painting are you most proud of this year?

“Wildflowers in the Coastal Park, Folkestone” and the last painting I sold; I am more humbled than proud that someone actually wants to buy one of my paintings.

Where are you planning to spend Christmas this year?

At home, enjoying cooking for the family.

What inspiration do you get from the festive season?

It’s people time, people inspire me, they always have. My best job ever (and I had many, 17 I think) was as a milkman, having 400 friends who inspired me every day.
