Art can be found in virtually every aspect of life. Nature and the changing seasons are among the best inspirations both a budding and experienced artist can find. We are emerging on a season that brings endless inspiration and possibilities. Autumn is naturally stunning. Autumn colours invigorate the senses and empower the paintbrush to pursue greatness. Here are some of the most inspired autumn art pieces we have to offer on Art2Arts.

Autumn Cottage

Dave Armstrong takes us on a journey into the country during this festive and alluring season. Autumn Cottage reminds us of vivid oranges, browns, and muted red tones of the season. Autumn brings cooler temperatures and a unique feel to the entire atmosphere and this painting showcases it so well. Although people are not visible in the piece, we can just imaging them siting by the window on this cool day taking in a hot cup of tea while enjoying the changing colours of the natural beauty outside.

Real Autumn

In Tanja Frost’s Real Autumn, we see an inspirational piece that showcases two scenes in one. First, we are abruptly presented with the natural autumn hues we enjoy, enticing yellows, oranges, and vibrant reds. However, the evergreen field in the distance holds on to summer colours in a deep green hue. Still, there is also a hint of ongoing winter deep in the mountains as they have a slight snow cap to them. This piece is a stunning showcase of a variety of seasons with the most dominant and colourful being autumn.

Glorious Autumn

Alexandra Lavizzari offers us an effortlessly beautiful piece with Glorious Autumn. This painting is not of a vast region or landscape, but rather a close up view of trees in this epic season. Glorious Autumn focuses on the serene quality of tree trunks in the forest during autumn. It showcases the seemingly mundane nature of the trees, but almost resembles an abstract painting. Upon looking at this piece, it can take time to notice the forest depiction. It is stunning and thought provoking harkening you to look deeper into the piece beyond the trees.

Into Autumn III

In Stella Dunkley’s Into Autumn III, we see a picture in picture quality. The outer framework is a mix of natural fall colours at random with hints of deep brown to offset the vivid hues. However, in the center of the piece, we get the opportunity to see a truly autumn scene. The trees have changed into their alluring seasonal colours and leaves are slowly falling to the ground. We also have the opportunity to see the buck and his mate in their natural setting. Deer in autumn is a welcomed site as they seek shelter to hunker down for the winter season. The textural element of the piece adds to its endless appeal.

Autumn Aura

The tree of life is on display in glowing effervescence in Mark Duffin’s Autumn Aura. This piece of art is an inspiring depiction that can be appreciated in all seasons. Trees are on showcase during this festive time of year. Colours change, leaves fall, and the world becomes a little brighter during autumn. However, we rarely think of the root system providing nutrients to the tree so we get to see this natural splendor. In Autumn Aura we get to see both halves working together in perfect harmony and the tie of the tree trunk bringing them together is prominent in this piece.

Reaching Down the River

At first glance, you might think this piece is painted during spring time, but on closer inspection, Reaching Down the River by Carolina Arbuthnot, is actually during early autumn. We know its early by the slightly yellow leaves holding to the trees. Moss on river rocks holds to its green hue longer due to the abundance of moisture, as do the river flower plants at the side of the river bank, but the trees show us a glowing autumn hue showcasing the season. We can almost feel the deep cool nature of the water as it flows down the river.

Down the Skate Park

We end our autumn colours in art collection with another piece by Dave Armstong. Here we see children enjoying the cool season with a day at the skate park. Down the Skate Park showcases the carefree nature of children and the enjoyment of skating with friends. The backdrop of trees featuring deep orange, red, and yellow provide us with the season. Although the temperatures are beginning to drop, a few of these children are attempting to hold onto the last few bits of warm temperatures by continuing to wear their short pants.

Autumn is a time of celebration and freedom. The grips of summer have finally ceased bringing us into the cooler season. These autumn pieces are a mere sampling of the amazing art inspired by this amazing season. What does autumn mean to you?
