Throughout history, the UK has been home to some of the most renowned artists in the world. The vibrant timeline of British art is packed full of rare and iconic pieces that span all different themes and styles. The southern county which sits just underneath London is a beautiful piece of art itself with some of the most luscious and vivid countrysides in the UK. In addition to the beautiful scenery, Surrey also holds a long and rich history related to the Royal Family. It is the location of numerous estates including Hampton Court Palace which was the official residence of Henry VIII.

Being raised in South Africa allowed Jane to explore her creativity from a young age while surrounded by beautiful scenery and one of the most diverse cultures in the world. After developing her interest in art and turning it from a passion into a skill at the Rhodes University, she began to paint professionally. It wasn’t long before Jane moved to England and found a new home in the beautiful area of Surrey. As an artist, she focuses largely on impressionism to create her work. Using her surroundings in Surrey, Jane favours landscape paintings and is brilliant at capturing the natural beauty of the land. Lisa Davies is a renowned British artist and a beloved member of the Art2Arts community. She is a local resident of Surrey which means she knows the area like the back of her hand and is able to use the natural landscapes and local architecture to create wonderful artwork. She studied for several years as a wildlife illustrator and after gaining her HND, was able to further her career and gain recognition in the British art industry as a leading illustrator.

Favouring acrylic and pencil, Lisa creates beautifully bright and whimsical illustrations that would make a perfect addition to anyone’s collection or would look great on a bedroom wall. Lisa’s work can regularly be seen at contemporary art fairs around the country and the full library of her paintings is available on the Art2Arts website.

John V Healey

As another local British artist from Surrey, John Healey has a great deal of experience with portraying the local environment. As a young artist, he decided to perfect his craft and increase his skills by studying at the Bradford Regional College of Art where he gained his official qualifications. Instead of painting full-time, John took an interest in the interior design industry. For several years, he worked as a professional designer and helped with a wide range of different architectural projects. In recent years, the talented artist has returned to his roots and rediscovered his original passion for painting. Working out of Surrey, he produces beautifully detailed landscape and cityscape watercolour paintings that showcase the beauty that can be found across the UK.
