Relax by Lidia Gajek(LG)

In light of the Covid-19 pandemic, many people are heading home to self-isolate.

After a couple of days of lazing around the house, you might find that you need a little extra mental stimulation instead of watching the news updates or clearing out those kitchen cupboards, so here are a few ways that you can enjoy art without having to leave the safety of home.

Check out the National Gallery Website

After closing its doors to the public until further notice, the National Gallery has been hard at work adding extra resources to its website in order to keep art lovers and families entertained.

Utilising the latest technology, the National Gallery has launched virtual art exhibitions, digital tours and has increased the number of online educational resources available to both adults and children who are undergoing a period of self-isolation.

From educational lessons available to students and teachers to insights into the work and lives of famous artists, the team at the gallery has been hard at work creating these new resources for art lovers across the UK and further afield.

Free to use for anyone with access to the internet, this is a great way to get an art fix from your sofa and to keep your mind active.

Spring Clean your Collection

If you’re something of an art collector, now is the perfect time to spring clean that collection! Our beloved art can get a little dirty and dusty over time, so why not spend a few hours cleaning off those canvases before standing back to enjoy the piece all over again?

Just be careful not to use any harmful chemicals as this could damage your art. More about how to care for your artwork here.

Go Online Window Shopping

Who doesn’t enjoy going shopping for new artwork? Sadly, with the UK government asking us all to stay home, popping to our local gallery is a big no-no.

Instead, why not treat yourself to a little online window shopping on the Art2Arts website? With new artists joining our ranks weekly, we have a range of collections to suit every taste and budget, so why not enjoy a little retail therapy without having to even get dressed?

If you do see something you’d like to adorn your walls during your online shop, then our professional courier team together with our artists are on hand to deliver any advice as well as your new piece of art in perfect condition directly to your door.
