QUESTIONS TO THE ARTIST ABOUT THE PAINTING

Firstly, we love your new floral collection.  Do you create these pieces from real life, references or memory?

Dandelions bloom in my garden in abundance, like a yellow blanket. I painted them from life under the impression.

What drew you to Focus on dandelions for this particular piece?

I have always been attracted to these fluffy flowers. They are like little parachutes flying around in my garden.

Can you describe the creative process to produce these pieces?

After a long winter and cloudy weather, sunny days came and everything began to bloom. Flowers, trees, and of course, this inspired me to paint a series of floral paintings.  I used an expressionist style, as I wanted throw a charge of energy and joy on the canvas.

Why did you decide to use acrylic paints instead of oil for this series?

I chose acrylic to paint this series because it can be painted in watercolour or impasto. Therefore it can be used in various techniques for an interesting effect.

Finally is there any particular piece which is your favourite?

You made me think about this question. I think I love all my works, especially when I am creating them. Each series of paintings is associated with certain emotions.
