Figurative Oil painting ‘Morning Tea’ by Monika Luniak
This week’s artwork of the week is figurative contemporary oil painting by Monika Luniak. Monika has used oils on canvas at 50 x 60cm. The artwork is ready to hang, but would also look stunning in a floater frame.
The artwork is of a woman, looking out of a window with a cup in her hand. And just like the title suggests – this is her ‘Morning Tea’.
As in most of Monika’s artwork, we only see the back of the woman, as she looks beyond. Which, I think, makes Monika’s pieces so relatable. As we look out with the woman, to view the same scene she does.
Like in most of Monika artworks, the colours are neutral, contemporary and subtle. The brush strokes she uses are loose, but they brilliantly add depth and light.
Monika style is instantly recognisable and unique. I hope you love this piece, as well as her other artworks, as much as we do at Art2Arts.
About the Artist
For as long I can remember, I have been painting. Although I have attended art schools in Europe, my style is my own. Having formed over many years, maturing as I have, in technique, emotion, and expression.
I am a full-time artist and I cannot imagine spending my time without a brush in my hand. Nor without paint on my clothes, and beauty flowing out of my heart. I hope you enjoy my work as much as I have enjoyed creating it.

Firstly, ‘Morning Tea’ is a lovely painting. What techniques do you use to create your artworks?
Oil on canvas
I can see that you mainly paint women and sometimes children – is this your preferred subject? And if so, why?
Yes and sometimes animals : )
Are the scenes you paint from real life, or imagined? Or both?
Definitely both : )
Do you only work in oil paints? and if so, why? Or tried other mediums?
Yes, oil is my favourite. Sometimes I use watercolours.
Finally, which artists, if any, have inspired or inspired you?
I am inspired mainly by what I see around me.
