Art2Arts Artist Patricia Clements

We are so excited to open the ‘Art2Arts Artist at Christmas’ series with the first mini-interview by Patricia Clements. This is a short insight into Patricia’s inspiration and celebration during the festive season. Enjoy!

Do you give your art as a gift to family and friends?

Yes, I give my artwork to friends at Christmas especially some of my local scenes of Richmond, to my friends who live nearby Richmond.

What painting are you most proud of this year?

The painting I am most proud of this year is ‘London Blues from St Pauls to the Gherkin’. It is an artwork from the series ‘Blue London’. It started out from a mistake when I photographed the skyline and I had the settings set on blue accidentally. I actually loved it and this inspired this blue series.

Where are you planning to spend Christmas this year?

I am spending Christmas this year at my brother’s cottage in Sussex. This is where I was brought up and I have painted many scenes of the Sussex countryside.

What inspiration do you get from the festive season?

I get inspiration in the festive seasons from events that take place near me, especially Hampton Court. I painted ‘Ice Skating at Hampton Court’ and other snow scenes like ‘Winter in Richmond Green’.
