Where did the inspiration come from for this piece?I get inspiration from everything around me. It’s can be a song, an emotion, a book, a song, a story from my friend, it’s unpredictable what can touch my soul… I’m amazed how much abstraction there is in nature, in the simple things and in elementary images of everyday life. If you gaze at the scenery, you may discover that shapes and colours blend and they are worthy of more than just one abstract painting. I like to paint nature and its creations: animals, birds, insects, trees, landscapes, leaves, skyes…My favourite bird is the owl and you can see it often in my artworks. What is the creative process when creating your vibrant colourful art?In working with various themes and interpreting them, I get support from my education in Scenography. I can transform music, text, or emotion into a painting or into a three-dimensional space. It is fun to watch the theme develop or completely change after another flirt with the canvas in the process of painting. I am in a hurry to begin my conversation with the canvas; together we sing, laugh or sometimes argue, but in the end, we always achieve unanimity. Most often, I paint on canvas using a scraper for artists, oil paints and ink. I do not set myself limits and I am not afraid to use various materials and techniques. And don’t forget “When you buy something from an artist, you are buying more than an object. You are buying years of errors and experimentation, frustration and moments of pure joy. Piece of the heart and soul of someone else’s life.” How long would this work have taken you?Every artwork takes a different time to be fully finished. It depends on the size, the technique, the complexity of the topic and many other factors. Usually, I start a painting and work on it until it is fully completed. However, there are moments, usually precisely at the end, when you realise you have been looking at a painting for so long that you do not even seem to see it anymore. That is when I break away from it and start the next work. After a while, I come back to it and, with an already clearer vision, add the finishing touches. Actually I worked on this artwork for ten days. Then, I let it dry, they the final varnish layer and after a week or so the painting is ready to hang. View Vyara’s full gallery here. |
